Become a Member of Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church
If you would like to become a member of Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church you are welcome to download and complete the membership form below, then send it to Rev. Aaron Stockwell Wisman at the church address: 17150 Maumee Ave, Grosse Pointe, MI 48230. Alternatively, you may download and create an electronic version of the completed membership form and email it to our Church Administrator, Ameera at: [email protected]. After Ameera receives your membership form, she will forward to Rev. Aaron to present your name to the GPUC governing Board for approval. Once approved, you have membership at GPUC, following will be a member of the canvass team contacting you regarding making a financial commitment to support our shared ministry. Then, either Aaron or someone from the Leadership Development team will contact you to discuss whether you have interest in serving on a committee, which, though not required, is a great way to help in our shared ministry and quickly become integrated into the life of the church.
Before downloading and completing the membership form, we simply ask that you meet at least one of the following three criteria:
1) present a letter of transference from your previous UU congregation along with this form;
2) attend GPUC regularly (three out of four Sundays) for at least three consecutive months; or,
3) attend New U gatherings, designed to familiarize you with Unitarian Universalism and GPUC. (For more information on the New U gathering, email our office at: [email protected])
Once one of these criteria is met, we look forward to receiving your membership form and developing a long term relationship!
