For over 50 years The Resale Shop of the Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church has been a marketplace for gently used clothing and household items at bargain prices for the discriminating yet frugal shopper. Generous donations and consignments supply our ever-changing inventory.
Consignment clients receive 40% of the sale price of their items sold within 3 months of entering the sale rooms. Checks are sent every 3 months and a client’s balance is carried until a check for $5.00 can be issued. Items not sold within 3 months become the property of the Resale Shop and are moved to the Clearance Corner.
The Resale Shop accepts clean articles in good condition including, but not limited to, clothing in season (no children’s clothing), household and kitchen items, small appliances, donated books (no textbooks), small furniture, jewelry and decorative items. The Shop cannot accept computer equipment, televisions, exercise equipment or large pieces of furniture.
We retain the right to discard any items that are found to be in poor condition and therefore not saleable, without notification to the client.
The Resale Shop is a wonderful place to find treasures and trifles, stylish clothing, dishes and glassware and home accessories with new surprises every week.
Come shop with us!

Dear Friends and Partners of GPUC Resale,
We need to ask for your help. Recently we have received donations and consignments larger than we can handle. Please follow these guidelines going forward:
- Limit donations and consignments to approximately a maximum volume of 2 small boxes per weekly visit. We are no longer accepting garbage bags of any size.
- Any clothing or linens with stains, rips or tears, problem zippers, any children’s clothing and shoes or purses that have been heavily used should be dropped at the St. Vincent de Paul bins at St. Joan of Arc Church on Mack Ave. north of Vernier.
- Spring and Summer clothing is accepted February through July; Fall and Winter clothing is accepted August through January.
- Limit furniture to small items: un-upholstered chairs, small tables, nightstands.
- A reminder: we do not accept any children’s clothing, toys, electronics or exercise or medical equipment.
- Merchandise is accepted on Wednesdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Please do not leave any merchandise outside Shop doors.
Our mission is to provide quality gently used merchandise at the lowest possible price and to support the programs of Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church which enrich our community. Your generosity has enabled us to do that and we appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Margo Bishop and Amy Thelen, Co-Chair, and the Volunteers of GPUC Resale Shop
